Tone Development Manager - Naoaki Ito

How to produce sounds that are more natural is a theme that is constantly at the forefront in the mind of the digital piano designer. The Linear Morphing AIF sound source built into these Privia and CELVIANO models marks a major advance in this regard. An advance we are proud to say is nothing short of epoch-making. The main thing that makes it so is the ability to ideally reproduce two contradictory qualities: a wide span from pianissimo to fortissimo, without any break across the span. It took about three years and the accumulation of a vast store of data before we were able to incorporate this advanced original CASIO technology into a digital piano. Please be sure to take a moment to try out these models, and experience their deep, rich tones, in addition to their acoustic piano like touch response and realistic reproduction of changes in notes over time.

Keyboard Development Manager - Hirokazu Taniguchi

The structure of the first digital piano keyboards was quite simple, consisting of springs and weights. Since then, keyboard technology has undergone major changes. One representative example of this evolution is the Scaled Hammer Action, whose structure is similar to the keyboard of an acoustic grand piano.
By reproducing an action based only on the weight of the hammer, a Scaled Hammer Action keyboard delivers a natural keyboard weighting and other advantages, for amazingly realistic key touch. The latest variation of this concept fits each key with three sensors to create a 3-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard. Precise control of the note on and note off timing during a stroke dramatically improves playability of successive notes. Please be sure to take the time to try out the 3-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard and find out how good it feels.

Design Center - Naoki Kuramochi

There are very few things in daily life that are the size and scale of a piano. When trying to sketch an illustration of a piano, it can be quite difficult to grasp its scale. When that happens, we sculpt a mock up out of polystyrene foam to give us something we can actually look at. Though doing this takes quite a bit of time and effort, it actually is quite enjoyable. Perhaps it is this "hand made" aspect that gives us intimate familiarity with the design. With the Privia in particular, the design must not only be piano-like, it also needs to be modern and refined. We are committed to maintaining an uncompromising eye to detail in our design, and we invite everyone to see and play these amazing musical instruments for yourself.
